A multicore CPU was to be examined for the Processor Circuit Extraction & Analysis.
Purpose
Determine if a certain type of circuit blocks is present in the product.
Procedure
- The CPU was decapped, delayered, and SEM photographed
- An automated software was used for circuit extraction
- The extracted circuits were then reviewed to confirm accuracy
- A search for candidate circuit block type of interest was performed
Result of Processor Circuit Extraction & Analysis
- Multiple possible occurrences of the circuit block type of interest were found
- They were analyzed in great detail to confirm their match with the block type of interest.
