GHB Intellect president and founder, Dr. Ghobad Heidari, will be presenting at the 2019 Intellectual Property Law Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The conference is organized by the Intellectual Property Law Section of the Nevada State bar.
Dr. Heidari will be presenting “Patent Valuation: A Multi Disciplined Process” from 10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at the Thomas & Mack Moot Court, part of the Boyd School of Law at UNLV. The presentation on patent valuation outlines the importance of patent valuation in intellectual property law, the many facets of patent valuation and the various applications of patent valuation.

Prof. LaFrance is the Samuel S. Lionel Professor of Intellectual Property Law at the William S. Boyd School of Law. She specializes in international intellectual property law and has authored numerous works. Her areas of expertise include patent law, conflict of laws, international intellectual property law, private international law, and copyright law.

Mr. Cabeca is the Director of the Silicon Valley United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Cabeca has been with the USPTO for more than 26 years, and previously served as the Senior Advisor to the Under Secretary of Commerce for the Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. He began his career at the USPTO as a patent examiner, and eventually worked his way up as a Supervisory Patent Examiner and then a Patent Technology Center Director in the semiconductor and electrical systems technologies group.

4 – 5 p.m. Dick Schulze – Missed Opportunities: How Discrimination Against Women Inventors Has Denied Us All They Could Contribute
Mr. Schulze is counsel at Holland & Hart and works out of the firm’s office in Reno, Nevada. He has more than 30 years’ experience practicing and teaching patent and trademark law. Mr. Schulze writes and prosecutes patent and trademark applications and manages foreign counterparts, and represents clients in the computer and high-tech electronics industries.
