This year the conference comes to our backyard. Here is what we are watching.
IPBC Global has been the meeting place for the IP world’s most consequential conversations for 19 years. This June, it comes to San Diego, and GHB Intellect is proud to attend as a sponsor.
The conference runs June 15–17 at the InterContinental San Diego, bringing together more than 750 IP professionals: corporate IP executives, patent owners, licensing professionals, investors, and legal counsel.
The agenda reflects where IP strategy is actually heading. USPTO Director John Squires delivers the opening keynote on Day 1. Sessions cover AI’s impact on patent value, the future of SEP licensing, battery and life sciences licensing frontiers, and a new IP Finance Forum addressing the intersection of IP and capital markets.
It is a room where IP decisions get made, not just discussed.
Why We Attend
GHB Intellect works with the same professionals who populate IPBC’s attendee list: law firms preparing for high-stakes litigation, corporations managing portfolios through M&A, investment firms evaluating IP-intensive assets, and licensing companies building campaigns on years of R&D.
What connects these clients is that the outcome of their IP matter is material, and the quality of the technical analysis determines the result.
“The professionals who attend IPBC are making decisions where the technical analysis has to be right. That is exactly the work GHB Intellect was built to support,” said Dr. Ghobad Heidari.
“We come to IPBC not to be visible, but to be useful — to connect with the people working on the hardest IP problems and talk about how we can help them solve those problems.”
IPBC is where we meet those clients in context, at the moment they are thinking hardest about IP strategy.
What We Are Watching at IPBC 2026
A few sessions on the agenda are directly relevant to the work GHB Intellect does and the clients we serve:
- AI and the IP landscape. Multiple sessions address what advanced analytics reveal about the future patent landscape and how AI is reshaping IP strategy. This intersects directly with the technical analysis work GHB Intellect delivers. The question of whether AI-generated insights can substitute for practitioner-level judgment in high-stakes matters is one our clients are already asking.
- Patent licensing frontiers. Sessions on multimedia, battery technology, life sciences, and IoT licensing reflect the technology domains where GHB Intellect’s experts are most active. When licensing campaigns depend on technical credibility, the quality of the underlying analysis is not a secondary concern.
- The IP Finance Forum. The new finance-focused track signals that IP’s role as a capital asset is getting more sophisticated attention at the executive level. GHB Intellect’s valuation and M&A advisory work sits squarely at this intersection.
