Technology development is a major area of focus at GHB Intellect. We keep abreast of the latest developments with our technical assessment services and by taking an active part in system/module designs, product tear downs and development. Our world class experts are well-known in the industries we follow and continue to be participating in the development of the standards and products therein.
In general, our design team specializes in embedded systems. These include (but are not limited to) mobile phones, consumer electronics, automotive electronics, satellite communication, multimedia platforms, etc. In particular, we have extensive design and development experience in most aspects of wireless and wired communication systems, multimedia platforms, and networking.
We specialize in various technologies but one of our core areas of expertise is communication systems. Our experienced team of subject matter professionals has first-hand, in-depth knowledge of almost all wireless and wired communication standards. Some of them have actually co-authored those standards, while others have spent years developing solutions and products based on the standards. As such, our team is ready to jump in and give advice or a helping hand in designing and developing your next communication system. Whether a custom solution or one based on an industry standard, we have what it takes to be effective on day one.

The most effective approach to mitigate development risks is to simulate before committing to implementations. We have tens of thousands of simulation hours under our collective belts. They range from very low-level firmware, RTL and even transistor-level simulations to highly theoretical ones. We know how to verify and validate your designs and ensure a predictable performance. Here is a general list of simulation platforms we are experienced in:
- Instruction Set Simulators
- VHDL/Verilog Simulators
- Network Simulators
We have developed quite a number of systems on FPGA ,ASIC and SoC platforms. Usually, our approach to ASIC technology development starts with architectural designs and simulations and then prototyping on an appropriately-sized FPGA platform, before moving onto ASIC/SoC design and fabrication. Our approach is heavily rooted in reliability of the design for final ASIC/SoC product. As such, we usually prototype the system on an FPGA platform with the same hardware and firmware code base as is intended for the final ASIC/SoC.
This way, we make sure that the FPGA platform can verify and validate the final ASIC/SoC designs as closely as possible, reducing the risk of bugs and the uncertainty about the performance as much as possible. Clearly, running ASIC/SoC designs in FPGA is not a straight forward task since FPGAs cannot typically reach the speed and performance of the custom hardware. Nevertheless, over the years, we have developed certain techniques to circumvent such limitations and follow a solid development process.
We also have extensive standardization experience which can be invaluable in charting the best course of action through the techno-political maze of the standards bodies. Our engineering support experts are highly regarded in the standards communities. Our intellectual property consulting firm can help or even represent you in various standards and special interest groups.
